How to Validate a Single-Use Assembly Supplier: 7 Questions Every QA/RA Team Should Ask

2025 10 06

Selecting the right single-use supplier isn’t just a procurement decision. It’s a quality assurance one. Here are seven questions that your QA/RA team should be asking before approving a new partner.

1. Can provide full traceability for every component? Each part should be lot-traceable with clear supplier documentation.

2. Do they offer Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and irradiation? GMP-ready assemblies need CoA’s, irradiation certificates, and sterilization validation summaries.

3. Are they ISO certified and GMP aligned? Check for ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 certifications, and a quality system aligned with GMP principles.

4. Do they understand regulatory expectations for ATMPs and biologics? Suppliers should know the difference between Phase I flexibility and Phase III scrutiny.

5. Can they support validation and documentation? Do they offer validation support packs, material compatibility data, or sample documents for your tech transfer files?

6. How fast is their lead time, and can they scale? A great partner can support urgent prototyping as well as commercial batch production.

7. Will they work with you or just ship parts? Choose a partner, not just a vendor. BioProcess Solutions collaborates with clients from design to delivery.
